Tradition, especially in connection religion, has a negative connotation for many. But Paul wrote to the Believers at Thessalonica instructing them to "hold to the traditions" they had been taught and to the Believers at Corinth, praising them for holding "firmly to the traditions" as he had delivered them. What were these traditions Paul wrote of and what role, if any, do they play in the life of the Believer today?

This study is designed to answer these questions and help us to see that the danger lies not in tradition itself, but in tradition becoming an empty ritual. God guided the development of traditions within the Jewish culture as a method of teaching the truths of the Scriptures in a tangible, "hands on" way and the purpose for which they were originally intended still holds true today. They are a "hands on" curriculum - a "God Appointed Teaching Tool."
